Dr. Jose de la Torre is Dean of the Chapman Graduate School of Business at Florida International University and holds the Byron Harless Professorship in International Business Strategy. He previously served as professor at the Anderson School at UCLA, was founding director of UCLA's Center for International Business Education and Research, and has taught at INSEAD (France), the Stockholm School of Economics, Theseus Institute (France), Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile) and Georgia State University. He received his doctorate from the Harvard Business School in 1971, following degrees in aerospace engineering and business administration from the Pennsylvania State University. De la Torre was President of the Academy of International Business (1999-00) and the European International Business Association (1981-82), serves on the editorial board of several academic journals in the field, was a member of the Board of Advisors of the Los Angeles Times (1993-96), and serves on the Board of Directors of Mphasis, a global software company based in India. He is the author of over 50 books and articles and more than 30 case studies in the fields of international business and strategy. His most recent book is Managing the Global Corporation, NY: McGraw-Hill (2000). Recent articles deal with the impact of e-commerce on global business, multinational corporate reaction to regional market liberalization, and the management of international collaborative agreements. His publications have appeared in the Journal of International Business Studies, the Academy of Management Review, Management Science, Organization Science, the California Management Review, European Business Review, Management Research and other leading professional journals. Dr. Joyce J. Elam is Executive Dean and James L. Knight Professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business Administration and the Alvah H. Chapman, Jr., Graduate School of Business at FIU. She was previously an associate professor at the University of Texas and an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Dr. Elam was a Marvin Bower Fellow at the Harvard Business School during 1987-88. She earned both her Ph.D. in operations research (1977) and her BA in mathematics (1970) from the University of Texas.

Dr. Dana Farrow is a recognized expert in areas including effective leadership in organizations and behavioral issues in management information systems implementation. A popular and dynamic lecturer, Dr. Farrow earned his PhD, Organizational and Industrial Psychology from the University of Rochester, an MA, Organizational and Industrial Psychology from the University of Rochester, a MS, Industrial Administration from Union College, and a BS, Industrial Engineering from Syracuse University. farrow@fiu.edu 

Dr. Paul D. Gallagher is Vice President Emeritus and Founding Professor of the Florida International University. He has served as Senior Vice president for Business and Finance, Vice President for Advancement, Vice President for Student Affairs, and as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Additionally, for over a decade he served as Executive Director of the University Foundation and led the University's successful $200 million campaign. Dr. Gallagher holds a Ph.D in Educational Research from Florida State University and a B.S. in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. He has served on numerous community boards including the American Red Cross, WLRN Public Radio, Dade County Exposition and Fair and Parkway Regional Hospital. Nance Guilmartin is a four-time regional Emmy award winning broadcast journalist, business advisor, author, educator, speaker and community service advocate. She consults to companies, nonprofits, and individuals, teaching them to quickly identify hidden opportunities and to overcome barriers to success in a time-challenged world of change. Her book, Healing Conversations: What to Say When You Don't Know What to Say, has been published in ten languages. Dr. Nathan Hiller is a professor of Industrial and Organizational Psychology with expertise in leadership development and evaluation of managerial competencies. Dr. Hiller earned his B.A. from the University of Calgary, Canada and his M.S. and Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University. He has helped to design and implement leadership programs with several Fortune 500 companies and his leadership research earned him an international award from the Center for Creative Leadership (ranked #1 in the world in Leadership Development by BusinessWeek magazine).

Kaihan Krippendorff is a professor of entrepreneurship and the Center’s Director of a Marketing and Development. A former consultant with McKinsey & Company, he is the author of “The Art of the Advantage: 36 Strategies to Seize the Competitive Edge.” He helps Microsoft, Pfizer, Fidelity Investments, and other leading companies build innovative strategies. He earned his MBA from Columbia Business School, BSE in Finance from the Wharton School of Business, and his BSE in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering. Dr. Galen Kroeck is the Chair of FIU’s Management Department. He has served as a consultant for projects ranging from corporate reorganization and human resources audits to managerial assessments and compensation system designs. He is the co-author of several books in areas of management and organizational behavior. Dr. Modesto A. Maidique is President of FIU and a professor of management. A recognized expert in the field of leadership, Dr. Maidique is the author of numerous articles in academic journals, a contributing author to ten books, and a co-author of Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation, a textbook now in its third edition.

Dr. Juan Sanchez is a professor of Management and International Business. He has worked as an HR Evaluation Specialist in Europe and in the U.S. His research on HR has received awards from the International Personnel Management Association and the International Society for Performance Improvement. He is a member of the executive committee of the Academy of Management's HR Division, where he also heads the International HR Committee. He has consulted with government agencies such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the U.S. Army, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Social Security Administration, the National Research Council, and the Veterans Administration. He earned his PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from  the University of South Florida, his MS in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of South Florida, a BS in psychology form Unversidad Complutense de Madrid.
